The mercury here reached 47.2 degrees Celsius, while temperatures in most cities hovered around 43 degrees Celsius. The weather center has indicated a pre-monsoon onset on May 28th. Thunderstorm and rain alerts have also been issued in several districts.
According to the Meteorological Department, on the first day of Nautapa in MP, there was rain at some places and scorching heat at other places. Khajuraho in Chhatarpur recorded a record high of 47.2 degrees Celsius. On the first day of Nautapa, the temperature increased in many districts. Naugaon 46.8, Bhopal 43.4, Datia 45.6, Guna 44.3, Gwalior 44, Raisen 43.6, Rajgarh 44.5, Sheopur 43.4, Damoh 44.6, Rewa 44.6, Satna 44.9, Tikamgarh recorded 45.3 degrees.

Red and Orange alert in these districts
A red alert has been issued for five districts: Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Satna, Panna, and Niwari. An orange alert for severe heat wave has been issued for 18 districts: Jabalpur, Shahdol, Singrauli, Sidhi, Sagar, Rajgarh, Rewa, Narsinghpur, Damoh, Datia, Balaghat, Maihar, Mandla, Mauganj, Bhind, Katni, and Agar-Malwa.
A yellow heatwave alert has been issued for Bhopal, Gwalior, Ujjain, Vidisha, Khandwa, Sehore, Burhanpur, Khargone, Narmadapuram, Guna, Ashoknagar, Raisen, Sheopuri, Shivpuri, Morena, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Anuppur, Shajapur, Ratlam, and Dindori. A heatwave warning has also been issued for Indore, Chhindwara, Dewas, Betul, Harda, Seoni, Pandhurna, Dhar, Barwani, Alirajpur, and Jhabua.
Thunderstorm and rain alert in many districts
On the first day of Nautapa, several districts experienced thunderstorms and rain. The weather center has indicated a pre-monsoon on May 28th. A rainfall alert has been issued for 14 northern and southern districts. On May 28th, a warning for rain, thunder, and lightning has been issued for 14 districts in Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, and Jabalpur divisions.
