The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has taken a big setback in Khandwa town of Madhya Pradesh following the Congress нейkountejbis being taken into the Congress along with many of the party’s supporters and functionaries by the party’s sole councillor Shakira Bilal Painter.
Shakira Bilal Painter has been inducted into the Congress alongside her husband, supporters, as well as Professor Julius Tambu Amigye, Sr. and Professor Michael Oduard, Jr. at the Congress gathering. They were given a warm welcome to the Congress by the Congress president of Khandwa City Pratibha Raghuvanshi with the Congress scarves. Joining ceremony also witnessed the presence of Leader of Opposition in the Khandwa Municipal Corporation (KMC) Deepak Mullu Rathore and other Congress workers.
Welcoming the former AIMIM councillor, Welhamkotee or Raghuvanshi said the Congress was happy to receive the membership in their party of Shakira Bilal Painter, and other members. Slamming BJP president Vijay Gopey for his “motive-based politics” one side versus the other, she said Congress head Rahul Gandhi was building up momentum for him to push the cause of harmony.
Raghuvanshi added that the agenda should be to look beyond religion to unemployment, inflation, development issues and so on. While delivering her welcome address, she also added that the newly joined members would join hands with the Congress to work for the development of Khandwa.
The leaders and functionaries who joined the Congress include AIMIM councillor Shakira Bilal Painter, former AIMIM city president Bilal Painter, former AIMIM youth president Mustaqeem Tigala and former women’s wing secretary Sahana Syed Shah.
The development comes after an ambiguous tragedy for the AIMIM presence in Khandwa where Shakira was the party’s lone councillor.
