Four including two children and women died in a car accident in MPs Umaria district on Thursday morning, said police. As per reports, the car rammed into a stationery truck in Umaria. Primary reports revealed 5 killed however, the police later revised the count presuming an injured woman died but was later revived at the district hospital.
The accident took place in the wee hours of Thursday near Bharula village within the jurisdiction of Civil Lines police station when an SUV car crashed into a truck parked on the roadside. Officials said the car was completely crashed, and the passengers were rescued after a long rescue operation. The victims have been identified as residents of Lilathola in Anuppur district were en route Chitrakoot a pilgrimage centre in Satna district.
Earlier ASP Alok Kumar Sharma had declared five dead. However, CMHO Dr V S Chandel reported that the lady presumed to be dead was revived by CPR and was referred to Katni district Hospital for advanced medical treatment.
