The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has came up with one mobile app which enables the consumer to pre-order liquor brands at the specified DEPED designee stores within the national capital.
The facility will be offered via the Delhi Liquor Booking app which provides a digital option to alcohol retail vending stores. Depending on the brand, consumers can find out if they are eligible, book their favourite product and pay for the product before getting it.
Advance Payment and Collection
As per its official, the payment needs to be done via the app prior to picking orders from the liquor vend where DSIIDC has tied up.
The official has stated that there are almost 210 liquor vends operated by DSIIDC in the city.
Only brands will be serviced that can be found at outlets run by the corporation. We want shop owners to be able to easily tell people if they are in stock, before they come to the shop just to find out.
Existing Purchase Limits Remain
Digital booking introduced won’t alter limits of single purchases as referred by officials. Within the limits given, a person can buy maximum of nine litres of whisky and 18 litres of beer. However consumers will still need to adhere to the relevant rules when accessing the new facility.
Stocking Level Issues
The application comes in the wake of the previous public consultations on implementing digital services to enhance the experience of liquor procurement in the Capital.
Last year, officials said there would be a mobile app under the proposed excise policy to make it easier for customers to buy liquor, and help ease complaints of liquor brands not being available or out of stock at retail stores.
The new project offers consumers an additional tool to help plan and make purchases before they hit the shelves. Its functionality will rely on the presence of the preferred brand(s) as offered by partner DSIIDC vends.
The shift coincides with moves by the liquor retail sector to make benefit from electronic booking.
