Arvinder Singh Lovely, Delhi Congress district president, quits over the ties with the Aam Aadmi Party. In the case of misalignment and deficiencies in decision-making, Lovely underlines her disagreement. The aspect he stressed the most in his resignation letter sent to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge was how their candidates in the coming Lok Sabha elections could align with the AAP leaders, especially the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
He focused on the opposition in the Assembly from the Delhi Congress wing on the alliance, which he attributed to the allegations of corruption against the Congress Party by the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC). Notwithstanding the opposition, the party bravely took steps to reduce the traditional party competition by forming an alliance with the AAP.
Arvinder Singh Lovely, the present DPCC president who took that position at the end of last year, accentuated the several times his authority was overlooked by the AICC general secretary. He stated that he lacked the authority to fill the directors and DPCC staff positions and that the organization’s higher-ups rejected the suggestion for the old man to be the Media head. He further brought to the table the fact that in many blocks of Delhi, there was a lack of appointing Block presidents due to external factors, namely, the AICC general secretary.
Mr. Lovely confessed to his inner norms of understanding the AAP alliance, but as a party member, he publicly backed the decision and worked after his Supreme Command’s orders. He didn’t even let off the other team members who accompanied him, who had also dared to pay him a visit to his residence, even if he was against his words. Then, he highlights that there was local discontent among the party voters due to AAP’s candidate, Kumar, who praised AAP’s governance.
The resignation of Arvinder Singh Lovely is one of the implications of the internal crisis in the Delhi Congress, the occurrence of which is a revelation of the various kinds of troubles experienced when dealing with political alliances that cross contradicting viewpoints and party dynamics.
