Bijapur: Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district allegedly killed a local assuming him as a police informer, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Thursday at Angampalligua village under Madded police station area, however, the body of the victim was recovered on Friday officials said. As per preliminary investigations, it is learnt that a group of Maoists entered the victim- Yallam Shankar and dragged him out. The post mortem report reveals he was stabbed by sharp-edged weapons and killed on spot.
A handwritten note recovered from the spot stated that the Naxals of the Madded Area Committee claimed the responsibility of the murder and accused him of being a police informer.
Further investigations are underway to ascertain the identity of the assailants. The police claim the murdered individual had no connections with the police.
