Rajnandgaon: Around 1043 scouts and cadets across Rajnandgaon set a ‘world record by taking out a Tricolour Yatra’ under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign on 13th August, an official said.
The event was registered in the Golden book of records, London as the ‘largest police flag march with the national flag’. The yatra was aimed at inspiring the citizens to hoist the tricolour at their homes.
Under the leadership of Deputy Inspector of Police Rajnandgaon, Gopal Garg and SP Prafulla Thakur 1043 scouts and cadets began the tricolour yatra at Digvijay Stadium and travelling through the city concluded at Padmashree Govindram Nirmalkar Auditorium.
Few amongst those involved in the Yatra included Additional Superintendent of Police Dongargarh Neha Pandey and Additional Superintendent of Police Ops Akash Markam. Jawans from DRG, CAF, PTS Rajnandgaon, ITBP and NCC were also present during the Yatra. The Yatra
