Bilaspur: The patwari named Ramnaresh Bagdi has been suspended with immediate effect due to allegations of corrupt practices in the demarcation of land while he was posted in some other area.
This action has been done as per the direction of Collector Avneesh Sharan through which SDM Kota issued the suspension order. Sevaram Bagdi, who was earlier posted in the village Matsagra in Belgahna tehsil of Bilaspur district, had demarcated the lands having survey numbers 285/1, 37/1, and 37/1 belonging to Suresh Kumar s/o Phool Singh Maravi.
Information given by Patwari Bagdi during demarcation suggested the submission of two reports that were in opposite. He gave a negative report during an initial site visit on 11th April 2017 to identify any encroachment made by Suresh Kumar over his land. But again, another report sent to the Kota Tehsildar on 20/04/2017 stated that Janakram, son of Chamru Singh, gets 0.35 acres of land of survey no 285/1. Because of such contradicting results, Additional Collector Bilaspur directed a departmental inquiry wherein vomiting Patwari Bagdi was found guilty of having committed the irregularity.
These inequalities came to the notice of the administration seriously on 24 October 2024, and the final action was taken by suspending Ramnaresh Bagdi from service immediately. Particularly during the suspension period, he has to continue staying his operations from Belgahna Tehsil Office.
Apart from that suspension, some adjustments were made administratively so that the services delivered could continue. Regarding the above said points, it was stated that Patwari of Belgahna Tehsil Halka No. 43, Sonasay Nawagaon, was given Halka No. 03 in Dadbchali village also. At the same time, Tehsildar Abhishek Rathore, posted in Belgahna, has been entrusted with investigating the case against Ramnaresh Bagdi in a departmental inquiry.
This case is a clear indication that the administration is keen to reign in cases of corruption by ensuring that officials handling records of land are accountable as the Ministry of Lands probes the matter. In this case, the district seeks to prevent loss of trust in procuring agencies that deal with the issuance of government documents by addressing those inconsistencies in records prepared and submitted by the procuring agency to avoid any distortion in the records of true landowners and thus protect the interest of rightful owners in their respective parcels of land.
