A major traffic disruption had occurred with an ash-laden truck going from Korba to Katghora near Chhuri, where the vehicle capsized and caused a long queue of vehicles on both sides of the road.

The truck was reportedly taking corners at a fast pace and its vehicle upset on the busy stretch, temporarily clogging up the road. The incident caused the traffic a lot of trouble, leaving people stuck inside for quite some time. The police authorities from Katghora were informed about the accidents and started the traffic management action. A crane was used to lift the overturned truck and to remove it from the roadway to allow normal traffic.

The disruption to traffic lasted almost one hour with extended traffic snarl-ups on both sides of the street, authorities said. The congestion was allegedly recorded as more than a kilometre long in both directions, with drivers and passengers of any transport mode being affected.

The Korba-Katghora road is one of the busiest roads in the region, and the accident caused a lot of inconvenience for the passengers during the peak traffic hours.

Quickly, no casualty or serious injury was reported by any source in relation to the accident. Officials cleared the roadway after removing the damaged car from the roadway, once traffic resumed. Police will investigate what led up to the truck losing control and tipping over.
