With live-in relationships becoming common over the days, conflicts between young couples have been outrageous. A 22-year-old woman from Sikkim was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend in Bengaluru. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Ati Hangma Subba, was a native of Sikkim, who was working as a receptionist at a salon.
The accused, Purba Lepcha, has been identified as native of Darjeeling, was employed as a waiter at a hotel.
Preliminary investigation revealed, the couple were in a relationship and had moved to Bengaluru about a month ago. They were living together in Doddakannahalli. According to the police, an argument broke out between the two on Sunday morning after the accused allegedly suspected the woman of cheating.
During the argument, angry Lepcha is said to have picked up a knife from the kitchen and slit her throat resulting in death.
The body of the deceased has been taken for post-mortem while a case has been registered against the accused.
Further investigation is underway.
