Bijapur: Four jawans were injured in an encounter that took place between security force personnel and Naxalites in the Naxal-affected Bijapur’s Kutru area of Chhattisgarh late night on Sunday.
The maoist launched a sudden attack at Darbha CAF camp under Kutru police station area of Bijapur at around 11 pm on Sunday night. Following which heavy retaliation was witnessed and the naxals fled the spot.
Out of the four jawans injured, Tukeshwar Dhurv- head constable Gariaband and Vatti constable Kanker Jitendra Mandavi were referred to a private hospital at Raipur for further treatment while the other two are being treated at Bjiapur District Hospital.
Bijapur Additional Superintendent of Police Pankaj Shukla confirming the encounter said” BGL rocket launcher bombs were fired on the CAF camp by the Maoists. In which four soldiers were injured. The Naxalites fled after firing from the police side. A search operation is being conducted around by the security forces”.
