Korba: A 17-year-old girl and her mother have been arrested for murdering a history-sheeter in Korba district alleging he repeatedly molested the teenager. The mother and daughter have been arrested by the district police and have been charged accordingly. However, the sources inform that the police would take into account the circumstances of the incident.
Reportedly, the 28-year-old man was a relative of the girl and had begum sexually harassing her after his wife ditched him for a friend. The police reported having found his severely injured body on the streets on Tuesday morning.
Primary investigations have revealed his marital dispute. On interrogation, the duo informed that the intoxicated slain barged into their house on Monday evening blaming the teenager for his wife’s desertion. He apparently demanded the teen agreed to his wishes and advanced menacingly towards her.
Korba SP Bhojram Patel informed that the family had called 112 for help, which unnerved the criminal and made him anxious. However, he later returned to make obscene gestures to the girl late in the night. Agitated mother and daughter picked up sticks to beat the man leaving him unconscious on the road. The police have been conducting a thorough investigation under murder charges against the ladies considering them to have committed the act in self-defence.
