The campaign against Naxalites has intensified in Chhattisgarh. In the encounter that took place two days ago, the soldiers killed 9 Naxalites. After Chhattisgarh Police, now Telangana Police has started anti-Naxal operation.
This morning, there was an encounter between Greyhounds Force and Naxalites near Jhadagutta village in Niladri forest area of Gundala Karkagudem in Telangana, bordering the Bijapur border of Chhattisgarh. In this encounter, Greyhounds Force has killed 6 Naxalites, including two female Naxalites. Some Naxalites have been injured. Two soldiers have also been shot in the encounter. Treatment of injured soldiers is going on. The soldiers have also recovered a large quantity of weapons from the spot.
According to information received from the police, 6 CPI (Maoist) cadres of Bhadradri Kothagudem-Alluri Sitaramaraju Divisional Committee (BKASR DVC) have been killed in this encounter. This morning at around 06.45 am, during regular patrolling in the forest area of Mothe village, located 5 km northwest of Karkagudem police station in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, firing took place between the police party and the Naxalites. The Naxalites started firing indiscriminately at the soldiers.
At the same time, the soldiers started firing back. After which, after the firing from the Naxalites stopped, the soldiers searched the area. During this, 6 bodies wearing olive green clothes were recovered from the spot. The killed Naxalites have not been identified yet.
The police have recovered 2 AK-47, one SLR, one 303 rifle, one pistol and magazine, live rounds, kit bag and other material from the spot. Two Greyhounds soldiers have been injured in this encounter. The injured soldiers are being treated at Mulagu District Hospital in Telangana.
