Chhattisgarh: Under the tutelage of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, A meeting of ministers and officials was held at the Chief Minister’s residence today. Members of the Council of Ministers and officials attended the meeting through video conferencing. The meeting reviewed the work of various departments in view of lockdown extension for prevention of corona virus.
Baghel said that several important suggestions have been received from cabinet ministers regarding lockdown. Decisions in the context will be taken as per the guidelines issued by Government of India. Orders will be issued separately in this regard and strict compliance to the orders will be ensured. He said that during the lockdown for prevention of corona virus infection, all the officials-employees under the leadership of ministers have done commendable work with team spirit in ensuring compliance to the precautionary measures to prevent corona virus from spreading.
In the meeting, CM Baghel reviewed availability of corona testing kits, masks, PPE kits, gloves, sanitizers, ventilators, isolation wards, quarantine centers, dedicated COVID-19 hospitals, employment for people of rural areas, farming related arrangements, drinking water facility etc, and gave necessary instructions in the context.
Talking about the poor and destitute, Baghel reviewed the distribution of supplementary nutritious meals to children, dry ration distribution under Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan and distribution of lump sum ration of two months to PDS beneficiaries. He directed that ration for rainy season should be stocked up in fair price shops of naxal-affected areas.
Chief Minister said that proper social distancing should be maintained while doing agricultural works in farms. Baghel directed officials to collect information about the industries that requires less number of workers and food-stay arrangements for them can be done there itself. He also gave instructions to Higher Education Department to make arrangement for online classes for graduation, post-graduation students, like School Education Department. It was informed in the meeting that online classes are already being conducted for students in engineering colleges and ITIs.
During the meeting, CM acknowledged the collective efforts of Collectors, SPs, government officials etc who are continuously and rigorously working for the uniformity in guidelines and orders. He also congratulated for their dedication and team spirit.
In this video conference chaired by Chief Minister, all the ministers were present along with Chief Secretary Mr. RP Mandal, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrat Sahu, Agriculture Production Commissioner Mrs Maninder Kaur Dwivedi, Food Secretary Dr Kamalpreet Singh, Urban Administration Department Secretary Mrs. Alermelmangai D, Mineral Department Secretary Mr. Anbalgan P, Deputy Secretary Mrs. Saumya Chaurasiya and secretaries of various departments were present.
