Raipur: Chhattisgarh breached the bleak milestone of 9000 cases since the first viral outbreak case in Raipur reported on March 18. With a surge in coronavirus positive cases in Raipur and other parts of the state, Chhattisgarh is looking for cluster of cases in near future.

Late night on Friday, 74 new cases have been found in Chhattisgarh, Out of which 52 patients have been found from Raipur, 14 from Rajnandgaon, 4 from Bilaspur while 2 each cases were found in Balod and Korea.

Earlier on Friday evening, State Health department released data stated 230 cases in a single day. With this, a total of 336 corona-infected patients have been found on Friday, while 3 people have succumbed to the virus.

Of the 230 cases, 132 from Raipur, 23 from Kondagaon, 19 from Durg, 17 from Rajnandgaon, 9 from Mahasamund, 6 from Korba, 4 each from Balrampur, Bastar and Balodabazar, 3 each from Bilaspur and Janjgir. 2 each from Dantewada, Jashpur, Surajpur, Sarguja, Gariaband and Kanker.

On a brighter side, 309 people have been discharged after recovering. The recovery rate of Chhattisgarh is higher than that of whole India, stands at 67.7% currently. The total tally of recovered cases has surged to 6230.

With this, the total number of coronavirus infected in the state has jumped to 9192, which includes 6230 recovered people and 2908 active cases. At the same time, 54 corona positive patients have died in the state so far.
