Raipur: The number of COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh increased to 3,578 after 52 people tested positive of the virus from the capital city ‘Raipur’, a health official said on Thursday.

A total of 35 patients were discharged after recovery, taking the total recovery to 287 in the city.

Eight CRPF personnels from Tulsi para among the new cases detected in Raipur. Apart from this, most of them are detected due to primary contact with coronavirus patients such as 13 found in DKS hospital, 11 in Abhanpur, 7 are reported from Telibanda and so on.

With this, In Chhattisgarh’s Capital, a total of 571 infected patients have been found so far, out of which 287 people have recovered from the virus. There are 282 active cases in Raipur. 2 people have succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile, Sarguja district reported its first death due to coronavirus on Thursday. The 65 years old male was detected with coronavirus and admitted to the Covid special hospital located in Ambikapur. As his condition deteriorated, he was advised to shift to AIIMS,Raipur where he took his last breath.

The deceased was said to be the father of Ambikapur Muncipal Corporation employee.
