Raipur: The number of COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh increased to 2,391 with 83 more people testing positive for novel coronavirus on Tuesday, a health official said.
The state reported 54 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, but by late night 29 more people tested positive for the disease, taking the total cases in a day to 83.
Of the new cases, 21 from Rajnandgaon, 11 from Durg, nine from Balrampur , six each from Raipur, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa and Surguja, five from Mahasamund, 4 recorded from Balodabazar, three each from Kanker and Narayanpur and 2 from Korea while 1 case reported from Korba district, the health bulletin said.
A total of 40 patients were discharged following their recovery on Tuesday, with this, the total people recovered so far is 1527.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 2,391. where 852 are active cases, as many as 12 have died of the virus and 1527 have recovered from the disease so far.

Meanwhile, India has so far recorded 4,56,183 lakh cases, which includes 14,476 deaths. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases.
