Raipur: Chhattisgarh Congress is set to release it’s election manifesto today, announced Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
“This war for the pride of our soil has started, it will not stop, now this chariot of Chhattisgarhiya elf-respect, with the blessings of Chhattisgarh Mahtari, we will present the ‘Manifesto of Trust’ in front of you all today at 2:00 PM. It is a promise, we will keep it again…”, wrote CM Baghel on X.
Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) released its manifesto for the Chhattisgarh Assembly polls on Friday and it includes several promises that are similar to those made by the Congress party. Some of the key highlights of the BJP’s manifesto include:
- Annual financial assistance of ₹12,000 to married women
- Annual financial assistance of ₹10,000 to landless agricultural labourers
- Procurement of paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal
- Cooking gas cylinders at ₹500 to poor families
The BJP’s statement also includes promises to create one lakh government jobs in two years, provide a monthly travel allowance for students going to college, and sanction funds for the construction of 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The Congress party has accused the BJP of copying its manifesto, and has said that the BJP is “rattled” and its defeat is “certain”. However, the BJP has defended its manifesto, saying that it is a “vision document” for the development of Chhattisgarh.
It remains to be seen whether the BJP’s manifesto will be enough to sway voters in the upcoming Assembly polls. The Congress party is currently in power in Chhattisgarh, and it will be hoping to retain its majority.
