Raipur: The hot winds from the North West region are heading towards the state of Chhattisgarh. Therefore, the region will experience heat waves for two days. On Sunday, May 21, areas including Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Raigarh, Mungeli, Janjgir, Balodabazar, and Durg may experience scorching temperatures.

The IMD reports also say that relief may be on the way as light rain is predicted to arrive after noon on Monday, May 22. Bilaspur, Mungeli, and Korba districts may still feel the heat wave on Monday, but weather patterns are expected to shift and bring some much-needed rain.

The scorching heat of the sun took a turn on Friday, as a light drizzle and gusts of wind swept through various areas. Despite the highest maximum temperature reaching a sweltering 44.8 degrees Celsius in ARG Tilda and Sakti, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded at a cool 22.8 degrees Celsius in Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dumarbahar.

As hot winds continue to blow in from the northwest, meteorologists predict an increase in humidity at night. While the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain consistent, thunderstorms and light rain may occur in select areas of Chhattisgarh on Saturday. The Bastar region, in particular, may experience a greater impact from the rain.
