Delhi is set to witness a mix of clouds, rain and rising temperatures according to the Met department this week. Light shower and thunderstorms are likely as the temperature over the weekend touched scorching 44°C over the weekend, it said.
According to IMD, the national capital on Monday will see partly cloudy skies with the possibility of very light to light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds during the afternoon and evening. The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 38°C and 40°C, while the minimum temperature may hover between 25°C and 27°C. The thunderstorm activity will continue in Tuesday afternoon most likely.
Rajasthan is likely to expect rainfall in the next 4-5 days, the met officials added. In the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning were witnessed, while isolated pockets of rain were also reported. Bikaner, Ajmer, Kota, Jaipur and Jodhpur are expected to witness monsoon activities in the next 4-5 days due to the western disturbances.
Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for Himachal Pradesh. The local meteorological station issued an alert for thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds with a speed of up to 50 kmph at isolated places. The state is expected to witness a wet spell on June 20.
