Raipur: Chhattisgarh to provide potable water connections to every household by the end of the year under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Additionally, 1 lakh residents in urban areas would receive drinking water under the Amrit Yojana.
The state aims to provide connection in districts like Korba, Bhilai, Raipur Phase 1 and 2, Sector 1156 in Ambikapur, Rajnandgaon, Raigarh,Durg,Bilaspur,and Sector 56409 in Jagdalpur.
The main objective of the mission is to provide pure drinking water through private tap connections. The state has been provided with a sanction of Rs 1.838 crore to conclude the project.
Shivpurcharcha, Jashpur Nagar and Narayanpur would receive water from the urban water bodies.Dhamtari, Tilda-Nevra, Khairagarh, Mungeli, Janjgir-Naila, Akaltara, Sakti, Baikunthpur Kondagaon, Saraipali, Bhatapara and Deepka Water Augmentation Schemes have been targeted to be completed in different months of the year 2022. These projects would sum up a total supply of 1,53,458 potable water connections.
