RAIPUR: At least 2,45,560 MT of paddy was purchased at 775 centres across Chhattisgarh until November 10th, under MSP in the paddy procurement program that began on November 1, an official said. A sum of Rs 534.39 crore has been released by the Chhattisgarh State Marketing Federation Limited as the payment of the paddy procured so far said Food Secretary Topeshwar Verma.
A total of 2,497 procurement centres have been set up across the state and 25.93 lakh farmers including 2.03 lakhs new cultivators, have registered for the sale of paddy for the total 31.13 lakh hectare registered area. On November 10th, at least 22,316 tokens were issued including 2,468 tokens issued through Tunhar Haath App, Food Secretary added.
In the Kharif Marketing Season 2022-23, the normal paddy is being purchased at Rs 2040 per quintal whereas A-grade paddy has been priced at Rs 2060 per quintal. This year the state determines to procure 110 LMT of paddy.
