Durg: Departments such as ACB and EOW are focusing on busting the operations of this Mahadev betting app throughout the state. In this regard, there are 16 teams that perform co-ordinated raiding throughout the concerned area. On Monday the ACB conducted raids at four places in Durg district and detained Vishwajit Rai and Atul, both are residents of Bengali Mohalla New Khursipar. These actions are the aftermath of an FIR filed in the Mahadev betting app case with the ACB tracking the suspects involved in money laundering and persons of interest such as Saurabh Chandraakar and Ravi Uppal.
In the same connection in Bhilai, another raid was conducted by the ACB on the residence of Mohammad Saddam in Faridnagar. However, they had to return since they found the property closed, although the ED had earlier raided the same place. Also, the ACB conducted a raid at a house belonging to the brother of a municipal councillor, but the move was unsuccessful. All these operations were carried out under the instruction of ACB director Amresh Mishra.
Vishwajit Rai, a man who owns a gym which as of now has been shut down, was arrested after he was grilled on connections to the Mahadev app. On this basis, Atul, who is an associate of Rai, was also arrested for the statement of Rai. These police authorities of the local regions were uninformed of these odd operations until they consulted some journalists to seek information, and although they did not have significant information pertaining to such at the time, they acknowledged it.
The actions instigated by the ACB have been quite intensive, and a sign of the seriousness is that they have taken the illegal betting network, focussing on neutralizing the network but also working on correcting the financial wrongs that surround it.
