KOTWALI: A minor was raped and murdered by a ten-year-old boy in his neighborhood said, police officials on Tuesday. Amber Singh Bhardwaj, Kotwali PS house officer stated that the girl was found hanging at her house with a scarf, which prompted the probe.
The incident is reported to have taken place in the Kotwali police station limits, on Saturday. The accused a 17-year-old boy was detained on Monday, an official said. Prima facie, the girl was sexually assaulted and strangulated to death, the officials probing the incident said. The accused has been sent to a juvenile home in the Durg district.
“The accused told the police he was addicted to watching obscene videos on his mobile phone and after watching porn, he barged into the victim’s house and sexually assaulted her,” the official states. In the fear of being caught the accused allegedly strangulated her, they added.
A case has been registered under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (rape), 376 AB (rape on a woman under the age of 12), 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offense), and 450 (house trespass), as well as relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act.
