In response to the bold revenue target of coming up with an ambitious own-revenue target of ₹1.27 lakh crore for the financial year 2026-27, N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed all revenue producing departments in Andhra Pradesh to boost their collection drive and reduce leakages.

At a high-level review meeting with the Andhra Chief Minister, it was reiterated that existing monitoring framework needed to be strengthened and technology exploited in order to enhance tax administration and achieve financial efficiencies. When notified, the release revealed that the state has seen its own revenues grow from ₹1,04,345 crore in 2024-25 to nearly six per cent to ₹1,10,643 crore in 2025-26.

The important revenue items during the meeting were Goods and Services Tax and the mining sector and stamps and registration department, as revealed by the official figures. Naidu added that the growth in the amount of investment spread across the State should have a direct linkage with improvements in taxes and the economic growth.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that it was the state’s first 42 days to date for the financial year, with around 38 per cent revenue growth, which meant there was positive momentum.

Naidu highlighted “balanced economic development at the district level” will be a significant factor in achieving the state’s fiscal objectives in a timely manner, calling districts “growth centres.” He also directed the departments to enhance ease of doing business, minimise tax evasion and implement new and enterprising systems using technology to enhance revenue generation in various sectors.
