More than 5,59,000 aspirants are gearing up to appear for the largest recruitment process starting this Sunday for 4002 police constable posts in Jammu and Kashmir. The examination is being conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) for the recruitment process, and its response has been massive. Hence, the officials have increased their preparations to make this examination experience a very smooth one for the candidates.

To maintain impartiality, frisking supervisors have been named gazetted male and female police officers. Besides, since malpractice cases are on the rise during the examination process, a videographic recording of any examinations shall be taken, according to a news channel.

Protests have emerged in some regions where candidates are urging the government to allow them extra years of age and delay the exams. In this regard, for the interest and well-being of all the candidates, the SSRB is emphasizing that the examinations will go ahead as planned.

Indu Kanwal Chib, chairperson of SSRB, reportedly said during one of the preparatory meetings that for 4,002 home department constable posts, a total of 559,135 candidates are expected to appear for the exams. The tests will be administered on the 1st of December, the 8th of December and the 22nd of December.

Many vacancies within recruitment have also been categorized in order to ensure that the roles are covered accordingly. For example, 167,609 applicants sit for the December 8 examination in the constable (telecommunication) position, while 128,663 candidates are expected to sit for the December 22 examination in a constable (photography) position.

To ensure all preparations were on stream, the chief secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Atal Dulloo, called a meeting with deputy commissioners, police, and civil administration. As indicated by the agenda of this meeting, this event was desirable for the discussion and enhancement of the measures ensuring the proper organization of these examinations, which play an important role in meeting the employment demands of the region and increasing the personnel of its police.
