Cristiano Ronaldo’s YouTube channel had hundreds of thousands of subscribers signed up within a couple of hours as soon as he launched the channel on Wednesday. Cristiano Ronaldo, a global icon, is spreading his wings in the world of social media. Having built a massive following on Instagram, X and Facebook, Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers to have played the game, has made a spectacular debut on video sharing platform YouTube shattering a host of records.
Cristiano Ronaldo has 112.5 million followers on X (formerly known as Twitter), 170 million on Facebook and 636 million on Instagram. Within the first 90 minutes of the launch of the channel, it had already hit the 1 million subscribers mark; reportedly, this is the quickest anyone has managed to reach this milestone in YouTube’s history.
The 39-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. “The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey,” Ronaldo posted on his social media accounts. A couple of hours after posting his first video, 1.69M subscribers had joined he channel.
At the time of this article going live, Christiano Ronaldo’s YouTube channel has 11.2 million subscribers and counting. Interestingly, Ronaldo’s contemporary Lionel Messi – a global football icon himself – has a YouTube channel too and 2.27 million subscribers despite it being launched way back in 2006.
