Alirajpur– Continuous rainfall in Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh, persisted until Sunday morning, leading to rising river water levels. In response to heavy rains, authorities opened five gates of the Phata Dam. The district has witnessed approximately 13 inches of rainfall thus far.

Tragedy struck on Saturday when an out-of-control Eicher vehicle struck five individuals standing near a drainage ditch in Rampura village, Jobat, before plunging into the ditch. Upon receiving information about the incident, police and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) teams promptly arrived. Despite the rainfall, the SDRF team successfully retrieved a woman’s body from the drainage ditch and continued its efforts to rescue the second body. Furthermore, three individuals, including the injured driver, were transported to a hospital for medical treatment and are currently under care.

The heavy and prolonged rainfall in Alirajpur has resulted in flooding, leading to the opening of dam gates to mitigate potential hazards. Authorities and rescue teams are diligently working to manage the situation and ensure the safety of residents affected by the inclement weather.
