Bhopal: Shashi Tharoor, the contender for the post of National President of Congress reached Bhopal today to discuss with senior leaders in the state Congress office. As the date for National Presidential election for Congress is approaching, both presidential candidates; Shashi Tharoor and Mallikarjun Kharge are trying their best to get delegates to their respective courts.
Shashi Tharoor tweeted his arrival in the state, “thanks officeofNath for the warm welcome to INC Madhya Pradesh by several senior office-bearers & opposition leader Gobind Singh”.
In a party meeting held today, Shashi Tharoor said that Congress got 19 percent votes in 2014 and 2019 elections and proposed that the only remedy is to show people that Congress is an attractive party.
The state Congress representatives will be elected today and the results shall be announced through a press conference. On October 17, the election for the national president will be held wherein 504 delegated from MO will vote for the post of president.
