Kolkata: After a historic win in Bengal by TMC over strong opponent BJP, there is no looking back by the supporters. But a few of them have been causing a ruckus after the decision came in and vandalized houses of the opponent party members. Several people have been killed in such incidents and many of them have been injured too. East Bardhhaman witnessed four deaths in one such clash.
BJP workers claimed that at least 5 of their party members have been killed after the declaration of the result. BJP state president Dilip Ghosh cried foul that no action is being taken against the culprits by either the state police or the administration. “It seems after winning unexpectedly TMC activists are venting their ire on opposition workers and their families with the tacit support of the ruling party”, Ghosh said in an interview to a media channel.
A lot of such incidents are being reported from several parts of the state that includes North 24 Parganas, Beleghata, Sitalkuchi, and several other areas. The union ministry of home affairs (MHA) has sought an explanation and report regarding the state violence from the governing authority. “MHA has asked the West Bengal government for a report on the post-election violence targeting opposition political workers in the state”, MHA official Twitter handle tweeted.
