DELHI: On Friday, Union Public Service Commission, or UPSC, released the fresh schedule for UPSC civil services preliminary examination 2020 on its official website which was earlier postponed in the wake of coronavirus outbreak and nationwide lockdown.
According to the new schedule, the UPSC Civil Services (Prelims) will now be conducted on October 4. The Civil Services (Mains) examinations will be held on January 8, 2021. Indian Forest Service (Prelims) will be held along with the UPSC Civil Service examination and Mains will be held on February 28, 2021.
It is being reported that at least 796 vacancies were announced by the commission to be filled through the civil services examination 2020.
Apart from UPSC Civil service exam, the commission also announced the revised dates for National Defence Academy(NDA) and Naval Academy(NA) CDS and other examinations which are conducted by the commission.

Candidates can log on to the official website — upsc.gov.in — to check the revised schedule online. An e-admit card will be issued before the examinations which can be downloaded from the official website.
Over seven lakh candidates register for the UPSC prelims every year and it is considered one of India’s most desired examinations. This year around 10 lakh aspirants have registered for the UPSC prelims examination.
