Today, Shiv Sena (UBT) functionary Sanjay Raut leveled very grave charges against the Election Commission and the Supreme Court for their bias in favor of the BJP and its associates. Speaking to the press during a press conference on Friday, Raut pointed out that the actions by the Election Commission that have been observed recently appear to be against the interests of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance comprising of Shiv Sena, NCP, and the Congress.
Sanjay Raut targeted the Commission of Elections to vote, accusing them of not being neutral entities. In his words, “They are the B, C, and D team of BJP,” for instance, and also accused both the Supreme Court and the Election Commission of being corrupt. He cited the BJP for using central investigating agencies to threaten political rivals, saying this was akin to a ‘political encounter’ to neutralize the Shiv Sena and NCP.
Such people as myself have been incarcerated and have reprised. We are very much clear about the identity of the targets, and what BJP has in mind is plain sailing,” said Raut. He continued to call the BJP as Bishnoi gang, arguing that while maybe they are not carrying rods now, they are using CBI and ED agencies to attack the political opponents.
Congress leader Atul Londhe Patil, who also lent support to Raut’s assertion, asserted that the BJP party was actually working contrary to the Constitution. He said that the Election Commission of India is now working like the ‘Election Commission of BJP,’ meaning it has sold itself out. Londhe Patil’s statement also accentuates the fact that the opposition parties and the ruling BJP are on the edge of another row over allegations of political horse-trading.
