Bollywood: Netflix on Tuesday dropped the teaser of Netflix Anthology Ray, inspired by the works of an acclaimed filmmaker Satyajit Ray.
The trailer featured four characters beginning with a voice-over followed by the introduction of Ipsit Nair(Ali Fazal), a man acclaimed for sharp memory like that of a computer. He plays the protagonist in the short story titled Forget Me Not – he is cast as a sharp-minded entrepreneur, whose life turns upside down when he appears to lose his edge. Meanwhile, Harshvardhan Kapoor headlines the story titled Spotlight – he has been cast as a superstar with questionable acting skills. He too enters a life of chaos as he gives in to superstitions and is engulfed by self-doubt.
Actor KK Menon’s story is titled Bahoorpiya, which presents the intricate story of a common man with a 9-6 job, who desires to be a make-up artist. Meanwhile, Manoj Bajpayee features in the story titled Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa he plays a celebrated shayar, who ends up meddling with time.
All the four characters’ lives go for a toss and the tales depict their journey while exploring the multiple shades of the characters.
The movie is helmed by Abhishek Chaubey, Shrijeet Mukherjee, and Vasan Bala. Ray will premiere on June 25 on Netflix.
