New Delhi: According to sources, the Rana couple will have to spend another night in prison as the formalities for the release were delayed.

The MP-MLA couple, who were arrested after they declared that they would recite Hanuman Chalisa outside Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s home, were granted bail by a Mumbai court today.

The MP-MLA couple who were granted bail by the Borivali court today will be released from Taloja Jail. The couple was arrested on sedition case lodged against them for allegedly “trying to incite communal violence by reciting Hanuman Chalisa in front of CM Uddhav Thackeray’s house.

A bond of Rs 50,000 each with one or more surety of the same amount was furnished to the court by the couple. The court warned the couple against tampering with evidence and committing a similar offence. It also forbade the Ranas from speaking to the media about the case. Breach of these conditions will lead to the cancellation of the bail.
