Kasaragod, Kerala: Kerala police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly raping and killing a pregnant goat in Kasaragod district. The incident is reported to have occurred on Tuesday night when the accused identified as Senthil, employed as a hotel worker, a native of Tamil Nadu who was working for almost two years was caught red-handed.

As per the complaint filed by the hotel owner, the employees woke up at 11 am on Tuesday night as the goat bleated heavily. The goat was found drenched in blood outside its cage, eyewitnesses said.

AN FIR has been lodged and Senthil has been charged under relevant section 377 of IPC in relation to animal cruelty. Hosdurg station house officer informed that a section for the unnatural offence was also filed based on the complaint. “The preliminary report of the government veterinary surgeon who conducted the post-mortem showed that the goat was subjected to unnatural sex. The reason for death will be revealed only in the detailed report,” he said.
