Kanpur: PM Modi holds a roadshow in Kanpur today across the Kanpur-Akbarpur Lok Sabha constituencies, passing through seven assembly constituencies: Sesla, Vishwkailash, Thatheri, Bakshi Kachche, Kapoorthala, Baghpat & Aishbagh. The destination for CM Yogi Adityanath’s chopper has been altered and will now be the university area rather than Chakeri, wherein the police, for security reasons, go to the spot from there.
For security reasons, the police have temporarily closed 26 streets marked for safety. Additionally, a large number of police personnel dressed in civilian clothes have been deployed among the public to monitor the crowd.
The security generator, which is the main part of the SPG, is responsible for the safety. On Friday, late afternoon, Police went for route-checking from the airport to the execution stage in an imaginable state of the arrival of PM Modi and CM Yogi. The news reports claim that CM Yogi, BJP candidate Ramesh Avasthi, and other top leaders may march with Modi along the chariot during the roadshow.
In view of this, it is clear that the Kanpur roadshow is a defining moment in the political arena, which attracts different groups of stakeholders – namely, the supporters and the authorities. Security provisions and logistic setup have been taken care of, and the next thing to worry us is the electorate and the role Prime Minister Modi’s visit would play in their lives.
