Amravati: Amid high tension over the brutal murder of a tailor, Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur for a social media post, another similar incident in Maharashtra has raised the eyebrows of Home Ministry.
In this regard, Home Minster Amit Shah has asked the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to probe the murder of Umesh Kolhe. The Police has reportedly arrested five people till now but the officials are tight- lipped on the reasons which led to this rare offence.
Reports suggest that Maharashtra’s Police Anti terrorism squad and the NIA are heading to Amravati for a detailed investigation in to this matter. The Maharashtra wing of Bhartiya Janta Party leader has alleged that Amravati and Udaipur incidents are connected to a common reason of a social media post supporting Nupur Sharma on her remarks for Prophet Mohammad. Further, it also alleged that the Police is unable to catch the culprits and lay down the exact facts of this matter.
A veterinary chemist, Umesh Kolhe throat was slit on the night on June 21 while he was on his way back home in Amravati city, Maharashtra.
