New Delhi– New Delhi is preparing to host the G20 summit on September 9 and 10. To ensure the safety of delegates worldwide, an unprecedented security force of 130,000 personnel will be deployed. The summit will take place at the renovated Pragati Maidan. Will see the participation of esteemed leaders such as U.S. President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, Mohammed Bin Salman, among others. However, it is noteworthy that Chinese President Xi Jinping will not attend.

To welcome dignitaries from countries like Japan, Australia, France, and Germany, a robust security infrastructure led by special commissioner Ranvir Singh Krishna of Delhi Police is being established. The security plan includes increased surveillance on the ground and airspace around Delhi through aerospace defence strategies.

Dependra Pathak, another figure overseeing the city’s security arrangements, highlighted the historical significance of this summit. As part of the security measures, there will be a shutdown in the city, with schools and businesses urged to remain closed for operations.


A significant amount of money has been spent to organise the event, including constructing a state-of-the-art venue costing $300 million to accommodate more than 3,000 participants. Additionally, the government has purchased 20 bulletproof limousines, 180 million rupees, to ensure the safe transportation of global leaders.
