INDIA: The India Meteorological Department reported that the Southwest monsoon has almost covered the entire territory of the country in nearly two weeks of its prior schedule. Previously, the monsoon was about to set forth in Kerala on July 1 and usually, it took 45 days to reach Sriganga nagar in West Rajasthan.
Contrary to such usual circumstances, the monsoon has set over Sriganganagar from its early usual schedule. The monsoon started early this year and reached the specified place within a week. It has been expected that the monsoon would cover the entire country by July 8. The Director-General of IMD, Mrutunjay Mohapatra said that this year the monsoon has advanced rapidly and would cover the entire nation from its prior schedule.
As per the IMD, the southwest monsoon has proceeded into the various parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab. The monsoon has almost covered the entire country by June 26. A low-pressure area was created over the Bay of Bengal that moved towards the west- northwestwards. Another view of cyclonic circulation hovered over Central India that led to the further advancement of the monsoon.
In the month of June 2013, the monsoon had advanced the entire country along with the Uttarakhand flash floods by June 16. However, this year the country would be covered by the southwest monsoon rapidly.
