Weather update: Recent weather updates by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy rainfall activity in North and Northeast India. With this, East Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR is expected to receive heavy rainfall in the upcoming days.

Further, it has issued an ‘orange alert’ for the same on July 11 in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. In a tweet, IMD said that heavy (64.5 to 115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5 to 204.4 mm) is possible over Eastern Uttar Pradesh on July 10 and 11.

Many villages in Lakhimpur Kheri have been affected due to heavy rainfall, especially due to the overflow of water from River Sharda. Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 12 districts in the state are currently flood-affected and the relief operations have been initiated. To ensure that relief reaches the people in need, CM Adityanath inspected the flood affected areas in Dhaurahra tehsil of Lakhimpur Kheri district. He shared a video on social media in this regard.
