Uttarakhand: A 23-year-old HIV infected woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting a minor, police officials said. Reportedly victim, the 15-year-old nephew of the accused was assaulted with an intention to infect him, police added.
The incident occurred in Uddhan Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, where the accused was nabbed based on the complaint filed by the boy’s family on Saturday, following which she was produced to a local court and imprisoned on Sunday.
As per the primary investigation, it is learnt that the woman was envious of her husband’s brother’s family who was hale and hearty. The accused’s husband died of AIDS in December last year. Following this to fulfil the rituals she had gone to Pilibhit, in UP. Sub-inspector Reeta Chauhan, who is investigating the case, said that the boy was first assaulted one month ago in the village. There she sexually assaulted him repeatedly before he returned home, he added.
The lady visited the boy again on 30th March and subsequently continued to threaten him. On April 2nd the lady was caught by the mother’s boy while she was allegedly threatening him.
“Shocked, the mother confronted him. He then narrated the ordeal. On the same day, both parents lodged a complaint against the woman at a local police station,” Chauhan said.
Based on the complaint a case for “malignant likely to spread infection of any disease dangerous to life” and “aggravated sexual assault” under Sections 270 of the IPC and 5 and 6 of the POSCO Act was registered against the woman.
