Kupwara – Our brave security forces achieved a major victory near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Where they successfully neutralised five foreign terrorists during an encounter. The successful outcome is testimony to their exceptional capabilities and preparedness to thwart any threats that may arise against our nation.
The operation was initiated following specific intelligence inputs provided by the Indian Army and J&K Police regarding the presence of terrorists in the Jumagund area, situated close to the LoC in the northern region of Kashmir. The encounter commenced Thursday night as a joint operation between the Army and Police to neutralise the terrorists.
Additional Director General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, confirmed the successful outcome, stating that the five foreign terrorists had been eliminated while a search operation was underway. The security forces have been actively searching and combing operations in the area as part of their ongoing efforts to combat infiltration and terrorism.
This operation adds to a series of recent counter-infiltration operations successfully thwarted by the security forces.
The significance of this encounter is amplified by the increasing number of infiltration attempts foiled along the Line of Control since February. These incidents indicate Pakistan’s attempts to push terrorists across the border into Indian territory in Jammu and Kashmir.
Noteworthy developments have taken place regarding security activities conducted jointly by India’s Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police forces – most recently occurring on June 13th, where their combined efforts were able to neutralise two terrorists situated within Kupwara district as well as seize a considerable volume of weapons/ammo while Thursday saw yet another successful interception mission occur at Poonch sector where no infiltration occurred while assets comprising firearms/ammunition were confiscated simultaneously
