INDIA: As the number of cases are gradually increasing day by day in India and there is everyday surge in the new cases. Several states are undergoing complete lockdown or partial lockdown to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
The latest to join the Lockdown trend is Chhattisgarh which has given the rights to district administrations to impose lockdown as required. Other states that announced complete or partial lockdown are Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Sikkim.
A complete lockdown has been announced in Raipur and Birgaon Municipal corporation areas in Chhattisgarh. The lockdown will remain effective from July 22 till July 28 midnight in view of the coronavirus.
The Sikkim government has decided to impose a complete Lockdown in the state from July 21 to July 27 in view of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
In Maharashtra, Lockdown has been imposed in two phases here – first phase is from July 13 to July 18 and the second phase is from July 18 to July 23.
In Pune, Collector Naval Kishore Ram has enforced that 10-day total lockdown in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and rural areas of Pune district won’t be extended. However, there will be some restrictions to check crowding, officials have said.
The lockdown has been also imposed in the entire Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.The Kerala capital will remain under strict lockdown up to the midnight of July 28, District Collector and Chairperson, District Disaster Management Authority said.
The Jharkhand government announced an extension of the lockdown till July 31 on Friday to contain the spread of COVID-19. “Considering the seriousness of the situation, the state government has decided to extend the lockdown till July 31,” Chief Minister Hemant Soren said in a tweet.
The TMC-led West Bengal government yesterday announced that the coronavirus-forced lockdown will be extended in the state till July 31. During the extended coronavirus lockdown, the timings of the night curfew has been revised and it will remain in force between 10 pm and 5 am.
In Jammu and Kashmir, strict lockdown will be imposed from 6 pm on every Friday till 6 am on every Monday, starting from July 24.
