New Delhi: The growth of coronavirus cases has been expanding every day. Inspite of several measures undertaken by the government of every nation, the leading nations have failed to control the upsurge of the cases. India has superseded Russia and claimed to be in top 3 worst hit countries in the world.

On Sunday, Another big single-day jump of 24,248 Covid-19 cases took India’s tally close to the 7-lakh mark. The total number of coronavirus cases in India surged to 6,97,413 .

With this, the country has recorded over 20,000 cases of the infection for the fourth consecutive day.

Currently, the nation has reported 19,693 death reports after registering 425 deaths on Sunday.

The number of active COVID-19 patients in the country rose to 2,53,287 on Sunday. On the positive side, 4,24,432 people were recovered from the disease. India’s recovery rate from novel coronavirus disease zoomed to 60.85% on Sunday, the highest so far.

Maharashtra becomes the only state to cross the grim milestone of 2 lakh. The statewide count stood at 2.06 lakh, as many as 84,524 have been infected in the city. Overall, the city accounts for 41 per cent of the state’s Covid-19 load.

With 2,244 new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Sunday, the total number of confirmed infections in Delhi stood just 556 away from the 100,000 mark.

Tamil Nadu reported 4150 cases of the novel Coronavirus on Sunday, With this, the number of cases stands at 1,11,151 cases in the state. As many as 60 more people succumbed to the infection on Sunday, taking the death toll to 1510.

Collective and focused efforts for containment and management of COVID-19 by the government of India along with the states and union territories have led to the number of recovered COVID-19 patients to rise to 4,24,432 so far

Top 10 states/UTs to record the best recovery rates are:
Chandigarh (85.9 per cent), Ladakh (82.2 per cent), Uttarakhand (80.9 per cent), Chhattisgarh (80.6 per cent), Rajasthan (80.1 per cent), Mizoram (79.3 per cent), Tripura (77.7 per cent), Madhya Pradesh (76.9 per cent), Jharkhand (74.3 per cent), Bihar (74.2 per cent)

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has informed that over 99.69 lakh COVID-19 tests were conducted by various laboratories across the country till July 5. Moreover, 1.8 lakh samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, More than 11.4 million cases of Covid-19 have been reported worldwide, as well as at least 5,35,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
