INDIA: As the nation is under lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the nation once again on April 14 at 10 AM.

Tomorrow is the last day of the 21-days lockdown that was earlier announced by the prime minister on 24th March 8pm, to contain the spread of COVID-19. PMO india has given this information by tweeting.

The Prime Minister is expected to announce an extension of the lockdown till April 30. In a meeting with chief ministers on 11th April, the Prime Minister was urged by heads of all states to extend the lockdown by at least a fortnight.


States like Telangana, Maharahstra, Odisha and West Bengal have already extended the lockdown till April 30. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik-led Odisha government was the first state to extend the lockdown beyond April 14.

Coronavirus in India update:

The death toll due to the novel coronavirus pandemic rose to 308 on Monday after 35 new fatalities were reported, while the number of cases climbed to 9,152, according to the Union Health Ministry
The number of active coronavirus cases stood at 7,987. As many as 856 people have been cured and discharged, while one had migrated. The total number of cases include 72 foreign nationals, according to data provided by the health ministry.
