Corona Update: Fresh 1,211 coronavirus cases and 31 deaths reported in last 24 hours: Health Ministry

Delhi,INDIA: Addressing a daily press conference, Health Ministry on Tuesday stated that over 1,200 new cases and 31 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in India, taking overall infection count to 10,363 with 339 deaths across the country. Joint Secretary, luv agarwal also mentioned about the Women of Self Help Groups and how they are playing a crucial role at ground level.

Talking about number of recovered people, Luv said “till now 1036 people have been cured. Yesterday 179 people were diagnosed and found negative of corona virus”.

As Prime minister mentioned about the ease of restriction in some of the areas after reviewing it thoroughly for 6 days, Luv said ease on lockdown restriction will be provided to the hotspot free areas only, after it has been closely monitored and reviewed.

According to ICMR official, 2.31 lakh tests have been conducted so far.

“We have tested 2.31 lakh samples, so far, including 21,635 samples taken yesterday, Out of these 18,644 were done in ICMR network of labs. We have enough kits to cover for a very long time” said the ICMR official.

Worldwide, the number of corona patients has crossed 1.9 million. At the same time, about one lakh 20 thousand people have died worldwide. There are 586,941 lakh cases registered in the US alone, followed by Spain with 170,099 and Italy stands at number three position with 159,516 cases.
