New Delhi: With the freshly recorded 18,094 COVID-19 cases by the Centre’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of confirmed cases in the country reaches 1,04,14,044. The current number of nationwide active cases stands at 2,22,416.
Total 20,532 recovery cases in the country have pushed the number of recovered people in the country to 1,00,36,722. Overall 233 death reports since yesterday have made the death toll of the entire nation mount to 1,50,606.
Five Indian states have reportedly contributed the most (around 60%) to the total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the running week. The states are Maharashtra (19,58,282 cases), Karnataka (9,24,898 cases), Andhra Pradesh (8,84,171 cases), Tamil Nadu (8,23,986 cases), and Uttar Pradesh (5,90,843 cases), which has given the country the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases amongst all other states and union territories.
Also, among the 5 highly infected states, Maharashtra alone has given the country more than 21% of the total case surge since the beginning of the week.
