Controversy surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide reemerges a day after the CBI puts in its closure report. Satish Salian’s lawyer, Nilesh C. Ojha, said the closure report “has no value before the law.” Ojha told the news agency that even if the closure proceeds, the court can take further action as it has jurisdiction over an FIR. “Clean chit has not been given. There is a false narrative being spread with respect to people.” However, Ojha stated that this closure report had no such value before the law. He also said that even after a closure report is made, the court can take cognisance of such a matter, re-open investigations and grant the arrest warrant, as happened in the closed Aarushi Talwar case.
Repeatedly, Satish Salian has demanded a fresh, fresh and thorough probe into his daughter’s death and has demanded interrogation of UBT Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray. His petition is due to be heard in the Bombay High Court on April 2 and provides another twist in the case, one that is still sparking debate across the country.
The CBI’s closure report in the Sushant Singh Rajput case has officially ruled out any foul play with the actor dying of suicide. Actor Rhea Chakraborty and her family members were also cleared by the report of all accusations made against them during the emotionally charged investigation of the year that held the nation in grip nearly five years ago.
Even though the press had closed on the closure report, advocates and family members are still pushing for further legal scrutiny on the high-profile case to keep it in the public discourse, with questions and suspicion remaining.
