Muzaffarpur- In a heart-wrenching incident, a boat carrying 30 children capsized in the Bagmati River in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on a fateful Thursday. As per reports, at least 10 children are missing after the boat’s tragic overturning, while 20 have been successfully rescued.
This harrowing incident unfolded near the Madhupur Patti ghat along the Bagmati River. The Muzaffarpur District Magistrate disclosed that the mishap occurred between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. on that fateful day, prompting swift action. Responding to the dire situation, teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were immediately dispatched to the accident site.
Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, expressed profound concern and directed the district magistrate to address the matter urgently. He stated, “Rescue operations are underway, and I have instructed the district magistrate concerned to deal with the situation urgently. The state government is committed to providing all necessary assistance to the affected families.”
