Rajasthan: The gang rape of a specially-abled minor girl has garnered huge political citations as the SIT held probe. Opposition BJP has demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.

“We demand a CBI inquiry to find out the truth. The police have taken a U-turn in the case. Crime in a peaceful state like Rajasthan has increased in the last three years,” BJP state president Satish Poonia told reporters on Saturday.

On the other hand, Gehlot urged all political parties to co-operate and not make any statements that are uncalled for and allow the police to complete the investigation. Updating on the developments in the case, he said, “Medical report has ruled out the possibility of rape. The girl is being treated at the hospital and police are carrying out a thorough investigation.”

Preliminary reports from the State police raised suspicion on facts that claim the girl was raped. A team led by a DIG rank official had been dispatched from the police headquarters to help the Alwar Superintendent of Police, sources informed.

The girl was found in distressed condition on the culvert of a flyover near Tijara Fatak in Alwar on Tuesday night. Doctors who claim she had grievous internal injuries was mutilated with sharp external objects. According to a senior doctor, her rectum was displaced due to the insertion of sharp objects, and it was operated on for almost two and half hours.
